 2009 Summer Internship

Each Summer Louisville students have the opportunity to travel to Tamale, Ghana for a life changing experience.

Interns spend six weeks in Tamale: living, working, eating and breathing Ghanaian culture and hospitality.

 

Sister Cities of Louisville and its Ghanaian partner, Sister Cities of Tamale created the summer internship program for university level students. The program seeks to match the skills and interests of two U.S. college students with the needs of Sister Cities and Sister Cities’ affiliated programs in Tamale, Ghana. 

 

Eligibility:

The program is open to currently enrolled college students in the graduate or undergraduate level with at least one year of study completed. The applicant must be in good standing with a minimum B average; be at least 18 years of age, and be able to thrive in new situations in different cultural settings.

 

Application Process:

Applicant must complete the application. In addition to the application, applicants are asked to submit the name of at least three references, one of which must be a current teacher or employer.

A Sister Cities of Louisville selection committee will schedule an interview with qualified applicants. After the interview, the final selection will be made and applicants will be informed no later than March 15, 2010.
