Healing the Children: Sister Cities has partnered with Healing the Children to locate children to bring to Louisville from our sister cities around the world who need medical procedures that are not available to them at home. Sister Cities also sends medical equipment and medical teams to our sister cities to administer aid and provide continuing education programs.

For ten years, Sister Cities of Louisville, the Jefferson County Medical Society, and the University School of Medicine hosted the Sister Cities International Medical Conference.

Healthcare specialists from Louisville's sister cities participated in individualized programs, which included attending lectures and case conferences; viewing surgical and laboratory techniques; and touring various medical centers. The conference was open to physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists and other medical professionals. 

While Sister Cities no longer organizes the annual medical conference, Sister Cities of Louisville currently creates individualized opportunities for sister cities medical professionals to shadow and tour medical facilities in Louisville and its sister cities.
