 Tourism

Sister Cities has partnered with the Greater Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau (LCVB) to increase tourism opportunities between Louisville and our Sister Cities abroad. Together, SCL and LCVB encourage sister cities citizens to travel to Louisville and experience Louisville as a worthwhile tour and travel destination. In addition, SCL works with other surrounding sister cities organizations to attract international visitors to the "Heartland" of the United States.  SCL also works to create group tourism opportunities to help Louisville citizens travel to our sister cities.

While Sister Cities does help organize group tours to our Sister Cities, we are not a tourism agency. If you plan to travel independently to one of our Sister Cities, we have provided some travel information that may help you with your travel plans.

All travelers will need an American passport to travel abroad. For information on American passports, visit http://travel.state.gov/passport.

Visas are required to travel to three of our Sister Cities for longer than 90 days (Tamale, Ghana; Perm, Russia; and Jiujiang, China). Visa requirements and fees vary depending on the country. For information on obtaining visas visit: http://travel.state.gov/visa.

Visas can be obtained from the country’s embassy in Washington D.C.

The following web pages contain links to other sites with information regarding culture, acoomodations, sights, etc. that may be useful in planning a visit to one of our sister cities.
