SCL is charged by the City of Louisville with planning programs that serve Greater Louisville. SCL serves the Louisville community by responding to initiatives directed from the City of Louisville's Office for International and Cultural Affairs, and SCL responds to initiatives proposed by the municipal governments of our Sister Cities.

In addition, SCL works with several nonprofit organizations, foundations, and agencies to offer assistance and aid to our Sister Cities.
