In 2016, Asia Institute-Crane House, Interfaith Paths to Peace, Kentucky District Export Council, Sister Cities of Louisville, World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana and World Trade Center Kentucky created LION (Louisville International Organizations Network).

As our community grows and positions itself as a leading international region, the six organizations see the need to reevaluate their role and seek a strategy that provides synergy and a critical mass for international leadership growth, efficiencies in programs and operations, and goals that help build a community which values its diversity and is recognized as globally-minded.

The outcome of this network is a mutually agreed upon collective vision, plans and guidelines for formal cooperation, and methods for assessing progress and success. The hope is that LION will be a model and catalyst for further formalized relationships with other international organizations in our region.
